Shardware

Accidents happen.

Ceramics are prone to chipping, breaking, cracking, etc., which means they are prone to discarding. But what if these accidents were expected?

In the shardware series, if a bowl is broken, it does not necessarily need to be tossed out in the garbage.  It'd still function as a smaller bowl, and more importantly it would retain it's aesthetics. Using worn geodes and mollusk shells as inspiration, breaking shardware can in fact enhance it's visual appeal, revealing an interior hollow cavity with vaulted arches.

One need not worry about the preciousness of the ceramic, the aesthetic prolongs it's life, and the broken shards can be turned into candle holders, vases, bowls, or whatever you may deem appropriate.
