The Seasonal Clock reminds us whats sprouting around the corner,  celebrating the coming culinary seasons, and in essence makes our homes an extension of these growing food communities. More than just a chart or graphic, it moves in harmony with our environment.  Displayed prominently, it is a daily reminder that theres is always an option to buy locally grown produce, motivating us to eat healthy and support local farmers even in the lean months.

Each arc or circle represents a specific food item. As the face makes one revolution per year, the arcs pass through a window, letting you know when that item is in season.  But more than just in season, it delineates when items are available at the market, a number of which can be stored and sold year round.  The face of the clock can be adapted to any region, and any food specific area; fruits, vegetables, seafood, herbs, fungi, etc.

For those who love to cook, whether for friends, family or work, its all about the creative process, the sharing of meals, and of course the communal eating. For many, the first step is a quick trip to the farmers market to check out what's in season.  The local markets and CSAs are amazing resources for both healthy organic produce, as well as a healthy conscience, supporting local businesses with our hard earned cash.

The farmers market is a browsing experience; seeing, touching, smelling, and tasting while perusing each stall.  And as we discover whats lush and fresh, menus are made on the fly. But what if we were better at anticipating the coming seasons? What if there was something that helped us predict the coming months?
