We believe that if we surround ourselves with objects that provide us joy and inspire curiosity, then the continuous experience of those objects will sustain a sense of beauty and felicity from within.

Meet the Maker

Hi, I’m David, the artist and designer behind Stoneroot. My path to this new endeavor has been anything but linear. With a background that spans Fine Arts, woodworking, food photography, and industrial design, I’ve always been fascinated by the intersection of form, function, and material.

This unconventional journey has given me an arsenal of talents with a unique perspective. Whether at a work-bench, behind a camera, hunched over a computer screen or deep in a sketch book, my passion for artistry and craftsmanship compel me to perpetually (maybe obsessively) problem-solve and improve the mundane.

Stoneroot is the culmination of my life experiences. It’s where my love and respect for the culinary and the hand-made collide. It’s a place for me to explore ideas, experiment with materials, and create objects that I hope will find a meaningful place in your home.

The Studio

Stoneroot is not a factory. It’s a one-man operation run out of my garage in Los Angeles. Every piece that leaves the studio has been handled by me at every stage of the process, from concept, to finished product, to packaging and shipment.

Working on a small scale allows me to be intimately involved with every object I create. This hands-on approach means production is limited, and each piece carries the subtle, unique marks of its creation. It’s a slow, deliberate process, but it’s one that ensures every Stoneroot product is something I’m proud to send out into the world.
